William Kenneth Worsham

William Kenneth (Bill) Worsham passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Bill was born on July 21, 1939 at Georgetown hospital in Washington DC to John and Anna Marie Worsham. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Judy Worsham, his son Kenneth Worsham and his wife Christine and his grandchildren Meghan and Nathan.
Bill grew up in Washington, DC and Arlington, Virginia after graduating from Annandale High School he joined the National Guard where he was a radar operator at the Lorton Virginia Nike missile site. During this time he was recruited to become a state farm insurance agent. He worked hard and he grew his agency into a very successful insurance business. He retired in 2017 after 52 years. Bill made many lifetime friendships at State Farm and helped many get started in the insurance business.
Bill’s life long passion was antique cars and he loved his 1930 Model A Town Sedan. He was a member of the George Washington Chapter of the Model A Ford club for over 50 years. He served in many capacities in the club but his main focus was the Father’s Day car show at Sully Plantation. He was the chairman of the car show for over 40 years. Bill was a Ford man and he owned over 25 Ford’s throughout life time. The club was his second family and the friendships he made have endured throughout his life.
Bill enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He liked writing songs and poems for people on special occasions. He volunteered with the Special Olympics for many years as a softball coach. He loved collecting car and aviation memorabilia. Bill always looked forward to making happy hour drinks and having his jack on the rocks.
Bill exemplifies what it meant to be a husband, a father, a mentor and a friend. He touched many people throughout his life and helped lift many up. He loved his family and took exceptional joy in his grandchildren. Bill will always be remembered as a kind, sweet and gentle man.
