Raised in Tribute:
$3625.50It is with much sorrow that we lay to rest our dearest Manouchehr "Joe" Sadeghian on September 13,2022. Joe was born on September 10, 1942 to a loving mother Nayereh and loving dad Nasrat. Joe grew up with 4 siblings that he loved dearly 3 sisters (Felor, Farideh and Nahid) and 1 brother (Attah). As a child growing up in a small village in Iran he would travel several miles on foot just to receive the highest education possible. He continued his love of learning, leaving his village to travel to a city for high school. Joe went on to graduate with honors with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. His first love was education but close second teaching which he started to do soon after graduation where he was a high school teacher. His thirst for knowledge and education led him to travel clear across the globe to the United States where he studied Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State University. Joe's loves included education and teaching but in Oklahoma State University he met his true love which was his wife Mehry. Joe received his Masters in Electrical Engineering and had one of his great achievements, his son Arash. He took his family back to Iran and had a lucrative position at Iranian Oil Company.
Unfortunately the Iranian Revolution and then Iran-Iraq War occurred causing numerous bombings to endanger him and his family. Joe continued working in the war zone to provide for his family and sent his wife and son to come back to the United States for safety and for his son to have a better education. After many years of working in region where bombs were destroying homes around him. He finally had enough finances to be able to make the journey back to the US to reunite with his wife and son. Upon returning to the US, Joe could not find any electrical engineering jobs, in order to provide for his family he took a job as a gas attendant. After some time Joe was able to return to his first 2 loves when he was able to get a professor position at National Education Center. He then went on to have several professor positions that included East LA College, West LA College, Mount San Antonio College, Devry, University of Redlands, Chaffey College and Cerritos College. He worked relentlessly from morning till night going from campus to campus in order to provide for his family. His determination and strong will was put to the test when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2001. Despite the challenges and limitations that this disease threw at Joe over the past 20 years, he managed to maintain a positive disposition and never once complained. Joe enjoyed gardening , listening to music, learning for the sake of learning, taking on big home projects that no one believed he could accomplish but he did! Anyone who came to know him could not help but love, admire and respect him for his will and perseverance, his giving heart, and his ability to see good in the toughest of times. He wanted to see the world, but never the same place twice and experience new things at any given opportunity perhaps to add to his wealth of knowledge. The one constant in his life was his love and dedication to family. Joe found joy in seeing his son earn his doctorate. Joe welcomed his daughter in law Charlene as his own daughter. When his grandsons Cyrus and Omeed were born, he wanted nothing more than to see them succeed. Joe loved his family and ALWAYS put their needs first. He was always concerned with making sure everyone else was taken care of. His loving wife Mehry and son Arash were his motivation to push through when things got to be their most difficult. Joe never gave less than 100% and would do anything to provide a better future for his family. Even in his last wishes, Joe showed his selflessness in requesting that not a cent be spent on his memorial or flowers but instead to go towards charities supporting research of autism and Parkinsons. Joe expressed that he had achieved his goals, was content in life and that no one be sad for him. There aren't enough words to express what a great man Manouchehr "Joe" Sadeghian is and the mark that he has left behind. By his example, we will continue and honor him and keep his presence in our lives.
