$203.00Dr. William Merle Flock, 84, of Chattanooga passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
Dr. Flock attended Greensburg High School, Penn State University for his Bachelors degree, Virginia Polytech for his Masters degree, and Penn State University for his Doctoral degree. Dr. Flock holds degrees in Meteorology, Paleontology, Mineralogy, and Topography. Dr. Flock authored two geology books for Alfred University for graduate students.
Dr. Flock worked for General Motors in Flint, Michigan as a research scientist where he developed the ceramic housing for the AC spark plug for which he holds a patent in the US and Canada. He worked for Plessey, Inc. in French Town, Pennsylvania before moving to Colorado to work for Coors Ceramics. Dr. Flock then transferred to Chattanooga as President of Coors Technical Ceramics where he worked until his retirement. During his employment in Chattanooga, he was heavily involved with the Navy on the development of the Trident Missile.
Anyone who knew Dr. Flock knew of his love for hunting, fishing, and travel. He went on numerous hunting trips all over the world and if you were lucky enough, he would share a story or two about his adventures. He lived his life to the fullest and is now at peace with the Lord.
