Raised in Tribute:
$2541.90Martin was born in Callura, County Clare, Ireland. He was raised on his family farm by mother, Elizabeth and father, Joseph, alongside his siblings Maureen, Anne, Teresa, Kathleen, Noreen, Michael and Joe. As a young boy he enjoyed spending time at Crag beach, riding his bike and taking part in general mischief that young boys are known to do. As a 19 year old he emigrated to the United States where he quickly joined the Air Force and served until 1962. After leaving the service, he found himself in the Bronx, NY working as an electrician. After having lead a somewhat legendary life as a bachelor, he eventually met his future wife, Katie who was a native of Ireland herself. The two of them shared a great passion for Irish culture and politics and enjoyed spending summers in the Catskills. They settled down in 1981 and moved to Yorktown Heights, NY where they had their one and only son, John. It's there where Martin spent the rest of his life as a devoted husband and father, eventually being joined by daughter-in-law, Jessica and two grandsons, Jack and Ben, until his passing on August 2nd, 2022. Martin was a proud Irishman, had a great appreciation for family and family history, and always made his home available for someone in need of a roof over their head. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him but the memories we all shared with him will continue to live on forever.
