Howard J. Alexander was born July 21, 1955, in Camden, NJ. He was son to Howard and Mary Alexander, eldest of 5 children. His upbringing was pretty rough. He grew up in a pretty rough neighborhood. My father had to learn how to defend himself from an early age. Unfortunately, over the years, the blows he sustained and a near fatal car accident in his senior year changed him forever. It wasnāt until years later that (we) wouldāve really noticed the differences. Although heād had a bit of a rough life, luck would have it that one day heād meet my mother. I was only 6 at the time. Long story short, they fell in love and got married. Over the years he demonstrated what a good hearted person he was, but also demonstrated how tough he was. Im not gonna lie, thereāve been some rough times, but he loved his family. He was the strongest man I ever knew. And until I got older, I looked at that phrase, āstrongest manā, and realized how many levels that had. All of the stories he told me growing up. Always believing in me when I didnāt believe in myself. Of course as father and daughter we had our ups and downs, but the love was ALWAYS there. After the passing of my mother in 2019, I knew that my time with him was fleeting. Especially due to the Parkinsonās tied in with other health complications. Unfortunately a year ago, my father passed away. I will never be the same. But I take him with me. Everything thatās heās taught me. I try to keep to honor his memory and keep it alive, in me.
