Raised in Tribute:
$507.50Lyle Corey was born on February 29, 1948 in Hayward, California, and grew up in Redding, California. He passed away March 14, 2022 in Ventura, California. He is survived by his sister, Sharlyn, wife, Robin, kids, Dakota and Shea, son-in-law, Brent, and two grandkids, Elsa and Ashagre. Lyle was a lover of the outdoors, especially the mountains, lakes and forests of Idaho, where he spent the majority of his adult life. Lyle loved to ski and also loved helping people love to ski and snowboard by helping them get the perfect equipment and keep it in top shape. Prior to his work at the Ski Shack, Lyle was a social worker for 17 years, where he helped countless children and their families through his work in child protective services. Lyle retired in Ventura, California, where he lived with Robin, Dakota, Brent and his grandkids. In Ventura, he loved going to the beach to watch the surfers and watching his athletic grandkids compete in many different sports.. Lyle loved his family. His grandkids are quick to tell you he was their number one fan in all they did. Really, he just loved people, and was always happiest when he could help someone in need or stoke someone out. Lyle's definition of family was vast and broad.
Lyle was a fighter and a survivor. He suffered from stage 3 lung cancer and beat it. A few years later he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and, miraculously, also beat that and was able to live cancer free for many years. He was not in a hurry to leave this world, and came fighting back after many devastating diagnoses. Around 2015, Lyle was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He found the symptoms to be extremely frustrating and was committed to supporting the work of the Michael J. Fox Foundation to find a cure for the debilitating disease. A donation to this important foundation is a wonderful way to remember Lyle.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
