Sharlene (Smith) Mann, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022, in Boynton Beach, Florida. Sharlene is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles L. Mann, Jr.; son, Michael C. Mann; daughter, Michele M. Prince; and 5 grandchildren (Noah, Rachel, Nicolas, Samuel, and Anthony).
Sharlene was born in Walton, New York on May 28, 1938, to Harold R. and Florence (Belknap) Smith. She attended Walton Central High School and was a member of the Class of 1956. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1960, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Sharlene and her family lived in Hamburg, New York from 1971-2016. During that time, she worked for Western New York Physical Therapy, Orchard Park Healthcare, and Hamburg Healthcare until she retired.
Sharlene continued to grow her family when she became active with Catholic Charities and Lutheran Services, hosting Vietnamese refugees from 1982-1990. Sharlene and Charles backpacked across Europe in 1985 and completed a mission trip to China in 1988.
Sharlene was a poodle enthusiast and worked as a volunteer at the Poodle National Convention in Salisbury, Maryland, for almost a decade. She also enjoyed working with her own poodles in agility training. Sharlene enjoyed RV-ing during retirement and traveled throughout the continental United States and Alaska, eventually settling in South Florida.
