Raised in Tribute:
$100.00Paul was an amazing family man who loved hard and would do anything for those around him. He was an avid and active boater and loved to play cribbage. He unfortunately had the genetic predisposition to have Parkinson's when he got older, however, in his early 60's he was struck by lightening and just like the Delorean time machine in Back to the Future, his Parkinson's was shocked into life much earlier than it would have had nature taken it's course. Paul never gave up or gave in to this disease as it slowly progressed and eliminated his abilities to do the things he once loved most. He turned his attention to his family, his friends, and the positive things he still had in his life. He never hesitated to reach out and offer help… whether it was a hand up, a shoulder to lean on, a second set of parents for a kid in the big city for college, to be a fixer of problems big or small, as a trusted advisor (whether or not you wanted his advice), or making the world magical for all the kids he knew by playing Santa on the phone.
Son of the late Morgan McSweeney and Helen (Maloney) McSweeney, Paul is survived by his long-time companion Criss Nigro, his daughters: Kelly, her wife Elizabeth, and grandson Grayson; Kimberly, granddaughter Morgan, and grandson Gavin; Kristen, her husband Bill, and granddaughter Elise. As well as his brothers: Robert and wife Kathleen, Mark and wife Stephanie, and Jack and husband Marc, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He will always be remembered and loved for all he gave. In this tribute page we are hoping to continue his ability to give back to others and help stop this disease that so drastically impacted all of our lives.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
