$809.00Richard Eldon Deal, 77, of Huntsville Alabama, passed away on March 25, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He bravely battled his disease with determination, grit, and a strong will to survive for the family he adored.
He graduated from Ames High School and continued to receive a bachelor’s degree from New School Social Research. Richard was married to the love of his life, Bernadette Deal on July 17, 1976; they were married forty-five years. Richard worked as an Information Assurance Analyst for BAE Systems. He retired from the United States Airforce after 23 years of service at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
He enjoyed scouting with his son, camping, solving puzzles with his daughter, Rock Steady Boxing, bowling, and family game night. He was also actively involved in Saint Vincent DePaul of Holy Spirit Church and Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 911.
Richard is survived by his wife, Bernadette Deal of Huntsville, Alabama; children, Brian Deal of Colo, Iowa; Julie Nelson of Surprise, Arizona; Tracey Hudgins of Oneonta, Alabama; and Mark Deal of Memphis Tennessee; the less attractive of the brothers, Roger Deal of Nevada, Iowa; sister Janet Gluck of Ames Iowa; Grandchildren, Harley Hansen, Lacey Deal, Jacob Deal, Autumn Scirocco, Chloe Nelson, Mattie Nelson, Ashtyn Nelson, Isaac Hudgins, Jamin Hudgins, Elyana Hudgins, and Owen Deal. He leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by Father Delos Deal and Frances “Pearl” Deal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The family of Richard Eldon Deal wishes to thank Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Alabama for taking wonderful care, comfort, and family support.
