Beloved husband to Regina for forty-seven wonderful, interesting and sometimes challenging years. Proud father to Omar (husband to Kristen) and Nadia (wife to Mariusz). Adored grandfather to three delightful children who will miss him and their special bonds, Axton, Marcus and Maia.
Ahmed will also be dearly missed by his siblings in Egypt and his many nieces and nephews, who checked in nearly daily on his health in his final weeks of battling PD. He was the oldest sibling in his family and the only one who emigrated permanently, yet kept in frequent contact with his family back home.
Ahmed moved to Canada in 1969 after completing his engineering degree in Germany and Egypt. He worked at the Four Seasons in Toronto for over 30 years. His true passion was investing in the stock market, and he spent a majority of his leisure time learning about and participating in trading. When he wasn’t practicing gourmet cooking at home, he was an avid collector of books, amongst other things, and built an extensive library (to the chagrin of his wife and amusement of guests to his home where books are still stacked on nearly every available surface). He also loved traveling and was a lifelong learner, prizing his children’s education above all other things
