My father, Douglas A. Deicke, passed away a week ago on December 3, 2021 after a long brave battle with the Parkinson’s disease. He and my mother were married for 55 years and he was a terrific father to my sister and I. He was born on May 2, 1942 and he and my mother were married on November 19, 1966. He was a great athlete in high school and college. He played football and ran track at Manasquan High School and he played football on a scholarship at Albright College. He also got his Master’s degree from Lehigh University in teaching. He met my mother when they were both teaching at an elementary school and they have been together ever since. He was also a great teacher to his students, an excellent coach to his athletes and a terrific councilman in Belmar, NJ where he lived most of his life. Overall my father was a fantastic man!
