Ron Norkus (81), the man, the legend, has passed after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He lived a full and action packed life. Ron was funny, smart and should have written a book! He grew up in Bridgeport, outside Chicago, served in the Air Force, married my Mom, Leslee Rysko (Reed), had me and my brother Doug, owned and operated two successful businesses Cypress Insurance Agency and Crystal Travel, lived in Hickory Hills, Burr Ridge and then Palos Hills. At 55 sold his businesses and moved to Acapulco, Mexico. He owned Mother Hubbard's Acapulco for years - has been married to his beloved Maria Norkus for 25 years and raised a daughter together, Lucy Norkus. He loved riding his Harley Davidson. He has five grandchildren Meghan (20), Patrick (17), Ryan (17), Lauren (15) and Noah (2). He has a sister in Tennessee, Barbara McHugh.
