Raised in Tribute:
$1743.50Janice (Jan) Louise Rogers, 73 years old, lost her 7 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease on August 23, 2021. She was the beautiful wife to Craig Rogers for 50 years. She passed away just short of their 50th Wedding Anniversary which was to be celebrated on September 26th. She was the most loving and caring mom to her daughters and son-in-laws, Erin & Chris Markus (Ramstein, Germany) and Kelly & Scott Kastelitz (Billings, Montana). She absolutely adored her 5 grandchildren — Connor, Kamrin & Corbin Markus and Andrew & Kate Kastelitz. She was incredibly close to her brothers Rick & Charlene Murphy (Newport Beach, CA) and Jay & Jenn Murphy (Jalaheo, HI) and deeply cared for so many other friends and family.
She and Craig loved to travel taking many trips to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and lots of ski trips over their 50 years together. They enjoyed cruises with friends and planned to travel around the United States in an RV after their retirement. Unfortunately, due to her progressive disease, they were unable to continue their travels and moved from Redmond, Washington to Billings, Montana to be closer to family.
In her younger years she lived in Southern California where she enjoyed her summers on the beach at Balboa Island with her family and friends. She was a dancer in the Fantasia parade at Disneyland and worked as a waitress at the Blue Bayou restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. She loved all things Disney and shared that love with her family while raising her kids in SoCal.
While we are not having a formal memorial service per her request, her family will be taking her home to the beach in California in the near future to spread her ashes where she was raised and spent much of her life. In honor of her, we would love for friends and family to send fun stories and any thoughts about the life she lived to share during that celebration of her life. We miss her so much already, but know that she is in a better place not having to fight off the demons of this progressive disease and the dementia that ultimately came along with it. We sincerely support the Michael J. Fox Foundation and their efforts in the research to find a cure for Parkinson’s and wish for any contributions that our friends and family are willing to provide to their cause to be in honor of Jan Rogers.
