$100.00Rey was born in Manila Philippines January 9th 1941 died due to complications from cholecystitis on September 2nd 2021 in St. Petersburg FL at St. Anthony's Hospital ICU . He was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2018.
Rey grew up Upi Nuro, Maguindanao, Philippines. When his father died a month before he turned 22 and being the eldest of 9 he helped raise his siblings and financially supporting them by being trained to do his father’s job at the Public Health Service.
Rey came to the United States in 1976 and made Chicago Illinois his new home then St. Petersburg Florida in 1979. He married Mary Ellen Fisher in July 1980 and 13 months later they had their only child Corteza Maria Famanas. In September 1983 he became a US Citizen.
Rey was preceded in death by his parents Gervacio Famanas and Rosario Labasan Famanas and 2 of his brothers Samuel and Roger. Rey is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Famanas; his daughter Corteza Maria Roberts; his siblings Victor Famanas, Isabel Faircloth, Elizabeth F. Vargas, Esmyrna Chavez, Steneli Mcwilliams, and Luz Famanas; grandchildren Mary-Anne, Micah, Cailyn and Aaron Roberts; and 15 nieces and nephews.
