Raised in Tribute:
$50.00Claude Taylor, 75, died at his home with his wife by his side on Sunday afternoon August 22nd 2021.
The husband of Nancy Taylor, he was born in Bridgeton and was a lifelong resident of the area. In fact he purchased property across the road from his childhood home. There he spent a lifetime first clearing the ground then grain farming for almost forty years. In addition he had a passion for hunting and he enjoyed all of his friends at The Back Neck Gun Club. Hunting also took him to several states including Arkansas, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Maine as well as Ontario Canada.
Claude retired from Chrysler Corporation Newark DE Assembly in 1996 after thirty-two years of hard work and occasional tomfoolery. He began his career on the vehicle assembly line and progressed to becoming a skilled tradesman and often worked as a union representative for his local UAW.
The family would like to recognize his longtime friends, the Durham family, with whom he spent countless hours farming, hunting and lots of story-telling.
In addition to his wife of thirty years, he is survived by his son Keith E. Taylor, his wife Laura, as well as his granddaughter Claire Jean of Yorktown, VA. Claude leaves behind his siblings Donald Taylor (Laurel Lake) Sara Glenning (Cedarville) Barbara Drummonds (Sparta TN) and Cliff Taylor (Denise) of Souderton PA. Also Claude leaves step-daughters Kristie Williams (Eric) of Salt Lake City UT and Denise Thielmann (Steve) of Clayton DE in addition to a niece and many nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Shelby Jean, parents Ann and Clinton Taylor as well as many loving in-laws.
Burial will be private at the discretion of the family.
