Raised in Tribute:
$1500.00Adele Bashore was born on the 19th of May, 1934 in New London, Connecticut to Lorraine and Francesco Miceli. As the oldest of 3 children, Adele was always very fond of caring for her younger siblings, Marcia and Frank Jr. In 1944, Adele's family made the move from East Coast to West Coast, settling in Sunny Southern California.
Adele had 4 beautiful children: Jim, Marcia, Michele, and Renee. Family was the most important thing to Adele, and perhaps her favorite role in life was being "Memere" to her 5 grandchildren: Nicole, Erika, Matthew, Kevin and Lauren. From attending soccer and baseball games, to dance recitals, swim meets, and traveling the world, Adele did it all. Some of her other favorite pastimes included reading, listening to Frank Sinatra, watching old musicals, doing laundry (yes, she LOVED to do laundry), eating candy and drinking margaritas with her best-friend and sister, Marcia.
Adele was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's dementia in 2010, although the doctors believe she had gone undiagnosed for many years prior. Adele passed away peacefully on September the 3rd, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Thank you for visiting this space dedicated to celebrating, remembering and honoring Adele Bashore. Here we share our favorite stories and memories.
This page also is a place to support The Michael J. Fox Foundation's mission to end Parkinson's. Every person and family touched by this disease knows the same urgency for a cure. But we also can take heart in the tremendous progress that has unfolded since the Foundation opened its doors. Those living with Parkinson's have every reason to look to the future with hope.
The Foundation believes we are closer than ever to breakthrough treatments. I want to do everything I can to help. Please consider joining me in the cause in tribute to our friend, sister, mother, aunt, and "Memere", as well as in honor of the five million living with Parkinson's worldwide.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
