My grandpa Lendell Shirley "Pa" rested in peace on April 20, 2016 after fighting Parkinson's disease for 6 years. "Pa" and I was very close. I would have a sleepover with my "Pa" and my Nana every Friday night. When he was first diagnosed with PD, I didn't understand what it meant. He had gotten sick for quite a while than he started to feel better. He started to work at my dad furniture store in Cave City, Kentucky. My mom, my dad, my brother, a couple of my mom friends and I went to Disney World for a week and when we came back, he gotten sick again. I had went to a school event when my dad called. He said," Pa is not going to make it through the night." I was confused at first, but then it clicked me: "PD." It was hard to say goodbye. He had always said to help others. Even through I am 12 years old, I am determined to help people fight PD. Thank you for reading this! I hope this find you somewhere. :)
