David V. Bourque, 82 Waterville - David Vincent Bourque, 82, formerly of Winslow and New Jersey died on Thursday July 20, 2017 at Lakewood Continuing Care after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Waterville on August 15, 1934, a son of Arthur and Germaine (Pilon) Bourque. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine and his Master's from Montclair State University. David served in the US Air Force from August 1952 to August 1956 as a radio operator and was discharged with the rank of A/1C. His time in the Air Force started him on a lifelong hobby as an amateur ham radio operator with the call sign WA2ZYX. He also enjoyed stamp collecting and living in "The Garden State" he loved gardening and produced an amazing amount of Jersey tomatoes. The vicissitudes of life brought him the good fortune of his wife Joan Plourde and five beautiful children. His career in education was in New Jersey so David and Joan raised their children there. He also had the opportunity to teach as an Assistant Professor in Accounting and Legal Studies at Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey. After retirement he returned to his beloved Maine and Waterville. David was proud of being from Maine and his French Acadian heritage and enjoyed researching the family tree.
