$25.00He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home at the age of 89. He was very independent until a week before his death. He felt as long as he was moving, Parkinson's would not get the best of him. This disease crept up on him at 72. When we were young, he would get on the floor to play with his 4 children and 10 grandchildren. He was unable to play with his 8 great grandchildren but sure tried while sitting in his chair or driving them on his scooter. He never lost his humor. His favorite was introducing himself to people "My name is Bob, frontwards and backwards." He had a few nicknames: Bob to friends, Sonny to the rice industry, and Sonny Boy to his family. So many memories, all are important. He was married to our mom, Dolores "Dolly" McCann , for 69 years. His reasons for a successful marriage: 1. honor your vows, and 2. never go to bed angry. "The longest Dolly and I have been up is 5 days."
