Tom ?Coach? Baldwin beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Friend, Educator, Coach, and Mentor. Tom dedicated his life to being an Educator and Coach and thrived working with young people. He truly had a gift for connecting with kids and he knew how to make anyone feel like, not the only person in the room, but the most important and interesting person in the room. He worked tirelessly for 49 years with youth and was truly fulfilled with the time he spent mentoring young people in schools, churches, colleges and the World Football ?California Sun?. In 2010 he was diagnosed with the early signs of Parkinson?s disease which lead to his teaching retirement at the age of 78 but he continued to coach boys and girls golf until he was 80.
Along with coaching and teaching, he was also quite the family man. Tom has two children Tina and Danny along with his wife of 62 years, Carol, who was his college sweetheart. But the most important team, and his favorite team that he ever coached, was the team that called him ?Dad?, ?Grandpa? and ?Papa??..his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He treated each one as a true ?MVP?.
Tom believed in people and held his relationships with friends and family to the highest regard in his life. He will be missed but defiantly not forgotten.
In his honor, his family would like to continue to grow people?s knowledge regarding Parkinson?s disease and in the hopes for work towards a cure; or more livable solution.
Please feel free to leave a memory or story of your interaction with Tom to help his legacy live on.
