Leon M. Graham, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth after a 24-year battle with Parkinson's disease on April 19, 2019.
Leon grew up in Lakewood Township, and entered the US Navy at age 17, serving aboard the USS Enterprise during Vietnam. He came back and married Kathy, together they raised three girls in Lakewood Township. Leon worked a career as an owner/operator truck driver, and later retired from WLSSD in '94.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing year-round, archery, playing cards, and spending time at the cabin. Leon was a brave, kind, and generous man who would help anyone in a time of need. He will be dearly missed.
Both Leon and his mother Bertha lived many years with Parkinson’s Disease. After the passing of Bertha in November 2017 and Leon in April 2019, family and friends collected donations for their very first MJFF FoxTrot 5K in Minneapolis, MN, Coming in as one of the top fundraisers for the race.
We encourage everyone to leave memories on this tribute page and donate, in honor of Leon, to help end Parkinson’s Disease!
