$1125.00Charles Howell was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 1990. It was the same year his wife Dorothy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. He was one of the lucky ones. He was able to get on medication pretty early on and the progression of the disease was a slow one for him. But as it progressed, the tremors got worse and it became more noticeable to others that he was having a difficult time. As hard as it was, he really never let it slow him down or stop him from doing anything he wanted to do until he wasn't physically able to do the things he loved anymore. He lived for 26 years with this terrible disease. Over time it became more and more difficult for him to walk. His body became rigid. And eventually it took away one of his greatest pleasures in life which was to eat. He truly loved food. Unfortunately he was not able to eat any food for the last 6 months of his life. This terrible disease finally ended his life on February 2, 2017. We have wonderful memories to help us through. But every dollar donated to this Foundation goes towards research and finding a cure for this terrible disease. He will truly be missed.
