My mother Phyllis was a bright eyed, wide smile fun loving person. She loved her three daughters and her 8 grandchildren. She was diagnosed roughly 8 years ago with Parkinson's disease. It took quite a few months for doctors to determine what it was causing all of her symptoms. She passed away June 26,2016 from failure to thrive due to Parkinson's disease. She fought till the end. She had a special spirit that came out via humor and sarcasm. Her smile could light up the darkest room. This disease was extremely aggressive and it stole her away at the young age of 60.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
