$2189.25Mariano Gene Gonzales, 79, passed peacefully on June 1, 2021, at home with family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, where he was born in November of 1941. Mariano met his beloved wife Sophie of 62 years when they were in 9th grade at Santa Fe High School (SFHS). After graduation from SFHS in 1959, he entered the world of business machines and began a successful career in that industry. In 1985 he and Sophie opened Rocky Mountain Business Systems, an office equipment sales and service business in Santa Fe. They later expanded the company with offices in Los Alamos and Albuquerque, where they are successful to this day. He and Sophie lived in Santa Fe their entire life and have three sons, Michael and spouse Mary, Raymond and spouse Lisa, Tom and spouse Myshelle; and five grandchildren, Mark (Tanya), Matt (Joe), Claudio (Nati), Dylan (Ryann) and Paolina. He lived life to the fullest—with hobbies including hunting, fishing, sport shooting, reloading, camping, and traveling—and especially enjoyed spending time his grandchildren.
