My mom worked her whole life, saving and Saving, for the day she could retire and then enjoy and relax HER golden years. Mom was a very hard, dedicated, and loyal worker. Rarely missing a day because she was ill, most of her "sick" days were to care for her grandkids.

After retirement, Mom and Dad packed it up and moved south to Texas to begin their relaxation and enjoyment of retirement. Then mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. She did not tell us, her kids, for awhile after her diagnosis. We were all speechless when we she did. How does this happen, Is there a cure, why her, why my mom?

Well, I may never know the answers to those questions, but what I do know is that my mom has never allowed this disease to dictate her life. Everyday she gets up out of bed and takes a 2 mile walk. She continues to do yard work and seek out yard sales. She still manages to do crafts and create the most unique and beautiful pieces. She refuses to give up and allow Parkinson's to take away what she loves.

My mom is my HERO, and she is the strongest woman I know.
