Raised in Tribute:
$2685.00"Mama" had many talents but the ones she mastered was being a wonderful mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She passed away with family by her side at 82 after living with Parkinson's disease since her diagnosis at the age of 58. For the first 10 years Mama managed her Parkinson's very well with medication. She had a will like no other to live her life to the fullest. Her family was her dedication and she did everything for the people she loved.
As the years went on Mama and Parkinson's became a daily struggle and medication adjustments were constant. There wasn't a day that she would give up as she had a joy for life and her family. She managed Parkinson's in the same she lived her life; with patience and poise and always moving forward. She loved to look her best, making sure her earrings were in place and matched her outfits to her shoes. She always wanted to look nice no matter how bad she felt.
Mama's happiest was with her husband Olavo of 62 years and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and gave all of herself to them. She is and always will be the anchor that held the family together. She was a true lady who raised her children and grandchildren with a calm and peaceful demeanor that was admirable. When things were difficult she always stayed steady, an irony, given her struggle with Parkinson's for almost 25 years.
We will miss her quiet ways, her witty sense of humor and her gentle touch, but we know she will always be with us because she left behind a legacy that will be passed on. We hope we make you proud because we are so proud of you and have been blessed to call you "Mama", "Maezinha" and "Little Vovo".
We request in lieu of flowers a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. Mama would have wanted to help find a cure for others.
Thank you for your kindness and support through these difficult times. May Mama rest in eternal peace.
Our love,
The Macedo Family
