Raised in Tribute:
$700.00Steve was a loving father, husband and friend who loved to hunt, shoot, and ride his motorcycle in the country roads where we all lived. He was a proud farmer who took over his family farm after serving in the Marines during the Vietnam war.
He loved to tease his friends and family and could make a sarcastic joke out of anything. In February 2005, Steve was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and like many other struggles he took it head on by fighting to stay healthy and fit. Even against doctor's orders he purchased a new treadmill while promising us he'd wear the emergency cord anytime he was on it. He never hesitated to laugh at the daily struggles he encountered.
On August 10th, 2016 Steve lost his fight with Parkinson's peacefully in his home (where we know he would've wanted to be). While we are heartbroken to lose our beloved husband and father we are glad to know he will no longer suffer.
Steve was a private man and preferred not to have a service but we are honoring his memory with more ammo against Parkinson's disease in hopes of a cure someday. Please donate in lieu of flowers. We appreciate the support, thoughts and prayers.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
