My Dad was diagnosed with PD in 2015 same time his sister was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I had noticed dads lip was quivering more than usual and his thumb was twitching so I begged him to go the doctors to get it checked out even though I had already guessed it was PD.
Dad's tremors got worse until the consultant at Walton Neuro centre prescribed dopamine for the tremors which subsided when the tablets had kicked in, dad used to be out going fun loving not a care in the world kind of guy, he was a dad of me and brother and granddad to five grandchildren. He was married to my mu m for 46 years before PD and cancer took him from us Feb 24 this year, to say my heart is broken and feels like it will never heal. I can only hope that in the near future a cure can be found for PD.
