Pasted below is a portion of the eulogy from her funeral service:
As you have seen and heard, Mom and dad have been married for 65 years. They have 4 kids, Wayne, Bob, Diane and Lisa. Mom and Dad have 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. There are many many memories enjoyed not only by our family but also close friends.
Mom was always there for us and for teaching us life's lessons in only the way a mom, especially our mom can do. They may not have always been the traditional ways but the points were always understood.
Mom had a heart as big as this room. She was always sending out cards for all types of occasions. And not just any card. She would search for just the right wording that not only fit the occasion but was an expression from her. It really was her trademark. Recently on Fathers day, a card jumped out that we bought from Mom to Dad. We all agreed that it would have been the card Mom would have bought for dad based on the current situation.
Mom love the adventure and was never one to sit and watch TV eating bon bons. She was always up to something, trying something new. Mom always encouraged us to the same thing and almost never said no if we wanted to do something. Experiences were important to her.
Mom really encouraged us to go after our dreams and as we have said - wanted us to experience as much of life as we could.
Another trademark of mom was she loved to shop and travel. When traveling she was still always looking for deals and not afraid to adventure out or take a risk for those deals. .
Mom, Thank you for all that you have done for us and in making all of us who we are today. Your humor and wit has been noted throughout which is why we can all take a joke. We could not have done it without you. We will all miss seeing you but your memories will always be in our hearts and mind. From your beloved husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, all your friends and the local union 38 retirees - Rest in peace
