Raised in Tribute:
$300.00Paul Opel of Worden, Illinois passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at his residence at the age of 82. He lived with Parkinson's disease for 14 years before his passing. Never one to complain, he always put his family's needs and his faith above his own battle. Paul worked at McDonnell Douglas for 41 years before retiring in 1999. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, cutting down trees, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events and having them over for dinner. Unfortunately, his ability to do these activities dimished as the disease progressed. Despite his pain, he was always so happy when he got to spend time with his family.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
