Debbi is one of the most amazing and strongest women I know. She grew up in a small town in Ohio. She was blessed with having the same friends from kindergarten all through high school. She still keeps in touch with many of them today. She is even more blessed to be raised by her mom, who was a single mother, a very supportive brother and two caring sisters who are twins.
Debbi is strong, compassionate and loving. She is the core of our family. She is my balance, when I am low she distributes where needed and lifts me up, when I am to high she knows how to bring me back to earth. Life with her is everything life should be. She is a phenomenal mother, teaching, encouraging and building two strong independent girls.
Debbi is a fighter and it doesn't matter who or what you are she stands her ground. That is probably why her favorite song is "I will survive".
In December 2015 she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Needless to say it was hard to take. There are days she up and days she is down. The hardest part is not knowing, which plays to her worst fears. While we know God will carry us through it all, each of us chose another word on our own and wears a pendant that bears that word of how we will get through this. Separately we chose LOVE, FAMILY, TOGETHER and FIGHT.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
