I am creating this tribute page in honor of my grandpa. I am a senior at Republic High School, and I am doing a big research project over Parkinson's Disease. I am trying to raise awareness, and money to donate to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Ever since the beginning my grandpa and grandma have done many things for me. I have always been into sports, but in the summer when I was little they would have to take me to camps, practices, and even games. They never once said they could not take me and usually if they had something planned they either canceled it or moved it to another time.
In 2012, my freshman year, my grandfather was diagnosed with this disease. Myself and many others did not know very much about Parkinson's if anything at all, and it was at this point that I realized I wanted to change that. At my school we have this thing called senior project, and it's this big project that almost every senior has to do. Well my freshmen year when my grandpa was diagnosed I decided that I wanted to do my project about Parkinson's Disease in honor of both my grandparents. Even though my grandpa is diagnosed with Parkinson's and my grandma is not, my grandma is also affected by it.
My grandparents are absolutely amazing, and I am so grateful to have them. They have helped shaped the young lady that I have grown up to be. I want this tribute page to honor my grandpa and grandma, and I also want this to help others want to go out and help raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease, and also raise money to help find a cure.
