Raised in Tribute:
$100.00George Dopirak, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016. He was born in 1924, to the late Suzanne (Kovalyak) and Paul Doperak. George was the devoted husband of the late Elsie (Woynik) Dopirak; and beloved father of Tom Dopirak (Kathy D'Aurelio) and Terri (Arup) Mitra.
George is also survived by his dear longtime companion, Rose Michalov. His grandchildren, Priya and Ayon Mitra, will always remember his unconditional love.
The youngest of nine children, George relied on the comfort and support of his late siblings, Ann (Walt) Smith, Joe (Frannie) Dopirak, Andy (Mary), John (Mary), Julia, Mike (Ann), Paul (Agnes) and Pete (Ann) Doperak.
Lifelong friends, Paul and Ann Stolinski, have also always been there for our family.
George was the co-owner of the former Hi-Way Tux Shop in North Huntingdon. George trained as a tailor under the GI Bill. Their tux shop and dry-cleaning business was a local institution for more than 40 years. Our family has been deeply moved to hear how many people's lives George touched.
Parkinson's was an ever-present challenge in George's final years. For the most part George kicked Parkinson's butt. For those of you who would like to do something in George's memory, consider donating here to help others who are or will experience the same battle with Parkinson's.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
