Raised in Tribute:
$51.50Doris Bourquin was a vibrant, talented woman who had many interests and passions. She was a wonderful singer, although she had no formal training. She had innate decorating taste that she used to great advantage in every home we had during the 57+ years of our marriage. Her home was always clean and orderly, and she was an excellent cook. One of the hardest things she had to face was her inability to continue cleaning and cooking after she developed Parkinson’s. We had noticed a general decline in her stamina and coordination beginning in 2002. It wasn’t until 2004 that her neurologist diagnosed her Parkinson’s; by then, she was unable to feed herself. The administration of targeted medications gave miraculous results, and she was able to resume most of her activity for several more years. Eventually, her abilities declined to the extent that she needed nearly full time assistance by 2014. Throughout her battle with Parkinson’s, she maintained a positive, upbeat attitude, and enjoyed getting together with family for eating and playing games like dominoes. She left us on March 8, 2021, and we will always miss her greatly.
