$11954.70Most people call Parkinson's a disease; Bob Wade prefers to call it a "syndrome." Fair enough. This is indicative of his positive attitude in trying to keep traditional PD symptoms at bay. Thus far, Bob has been successful - though that may be due to his nagging but adoring wife, who constantly encourages him to get more exercise!!! For a guy who has traditionally preferred intellectualism to exercise, Bob now engages in weekly yoga, personal strength training, Tai Chi, regular hikes, when he's not chasing me around the house! At his semiannual Drs appt in December 2015, when Bob asked the Doctor how he was doing, the doctor told him that "most 70 year olds at the same stage of PD as you (Bob), would kill to be in as good shape as you are!"
Heartwarming words, but we are realistic: this is a degenerative and progressive disease, or as Bob prefers, syndrome. There is so much research going on in hopes of finding a cure; the researchers WILL find a cure, and we are hopeful, based on the encouraging news we are reading, that it will be in Bob's lifetime.
Please join me in helping to contribute to Michael J Fox foundation, in honor of Bob's 70th birthday on March 27!
