Raised in Tribute:
$2259.50After a 27 year battle with Parkinson’s, Virginia K. Laird, of Port Republic, NJ, passed away on March 21, 2021, at the age of 74. As the initial unexpected discovery of her Parkinson’s diagnosis faded, Ginni became determined to try living life to the fullest and not waste a single day. Although her ability to live fully was limited by Parkinson’s on some days, her quiet determination to make the most of each day never wavered. For many years, she sought new challenges in an effort to maintain her mind and body. Some of these activities included: working out at the gym, boxing, ballroom dancing with her husband, book club discussions with friends, scrapbooking, gardening, even a few running races, games, and attempted softball tosses with her grandchildren.
As the years went by, Parkinson’s slowly took away many of Ginni’s physical abilities, but she never lost her caring and loving spirit. She was a patient and supportive listener, a quality her family and many lifelong friends relied upon. With her calm delivery, she could always be counted on to provide just the right level of compassion and non judgmental guidance that let you know everything would be alright. Throughout her entire experience with Parkinson’s, Ginni never complained, maintained a positive outlook, and continued to express her desire to help others, even in her most difficult times.
Ginni is predeceased by her parents James and Evelyn Alverson. Ginni will be forever cherished by her husband of 52 years, Frank Laird; her children Shannon (Barry) Goff, and Sean (Lynne) Laird; her brother James (Gail) Alverson; her four grandchildren Olivia, Savannah, Matthew, and Gianna; and numerous dear friends and extended family members.
