$877606.00With a passionate commitment for “helping people help people” Julian alongside his wife, Barbara, founded AliMed in 1970 out of their home. For the next 50 years, Julian lead AliMed which built its long history and reputation on developing innovative and unique healthcare products designed to improve patient outcomes and experiences from hospital to home. This along with his love for his wife, Barbara, his two daughters and their spouses Alexandra & Camilo and Nicole & Patrick, and his grandchildren Malachi and Roma, were the driving forces in his life.
Julian's passions, interests, hobbies and unique character left an indelible impression on all who knew him. An avid photographer, with the mind of an engineer and a love for music and beauty, he was an enthusiastic patron of the arts including the MIT LIST Visual Arts Center, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Longy School of Music at Bard College, the St. Botolph Club, the Copley Society of Art, the Lyric Stage and he was particularly inspired by the Boston Youth Philharmonic. He also sat on the Thayer School Board of Advisors, and became a dedicated supporter of the Michael J. Fox Foundation's quest for a cure for Parkinson's when his wife was diagnosed nearly 20 years ago.

The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
