$407.50Leroy A. Probst, 89 of Olmsted Township passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born March 29, 1931 in Beaver Falls, PA to parents Herman and Violet (nee Garvin) Probst.
Leroy was a Navy veteran. He graduated from Kent State University in 1953 with his bachelor's degree in business administration majoring in accounting. He worked 5 years for Lorain Products in Production Inventory Control; entered the securities business in 1962 and became an Investment Advisor/ broker. In 1973, he became President of Basic Packaging in Avon Lake, Ohio before returning to the investment business. He was instrumental in raising money for the Lorain YMCA to build their new facility in 1966. Leroy was hardworking, social and conducted business with integrity. He was an avid golfer at the Elyria Country Club, becoming a member in 1966 and was active in following the stock market and advising clients into his 80's. He enjoyed watching and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavalier's.
He is survived by his loving children David (Cindy) Probst, Jeffrey (Cindy) Probst, Lisa (Craig) Grenci and Douglas (Patty) Probst; cherished grandchildren Justin (Emily) Probst, Megan (Kyle) Snyder, Tyler Probst, Emily Probst, Katie Probst, Carly Stoll, Ed Gaw, Tim (Veronica) Gaw, Brian Probst, David Probst and Kelly Probst; great-grandchildren Theodore Snyder, Madison Snyder, and Everly Hoover.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna Phaye Probst, his former wife Nancy Probst and his great-granddaughter Lillian Snyder.
