Raised in Tribute:
$405.70Lucy Roucis was an actor and model who continued to perform after the early onset of Parkinson’s disease. Lucy’s disability brought her to activism, public speaking, and lobbying – much done through the Michael J. Fox Foundation – to advocate for research and awareness of Parkinson’s disease.
Lucy was a force of nature who brought irreverent humor and wit to everything she touched. She was also kind and compassionate, having once said, “I believe in feeling how you feel, and if you are depressed and feeling icky about yourself, then feel it. Don’t deny it. Then get the (bleep) over it.”
Everyone who knew Lucy has a funny story, a joke, or a special moment with her. She was an original and we are grateful for the time we shared with her.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
