Raised in Tribute:
$6633.35In loving memory of Edith Raymond Steele Walsh (1946-2021) who fought Parkinson’s Disease for seventeen years. Edie maintained a positive attitude and a stubborn defiance even as the disease took more and more from her life. Edie was fiery and fun and witty and beautiful. She was a brilliant student, a graduate of Rosemont College, a Navy wife, a loving wife and mother, a social worker, a homemaker, a volunteer at The Overbrook School for the Blind, a docent at The Barnes Foundation, a duplicate bridge player, a needlepoint talent, a lover of the performing arts and word play. Edie was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2004 and it took so much from her. But in that time she saw the world twice over and more and the births of the majority of her ten grandchildren born. This page is in her memory because Edie wished, as we do, to support the Fox Foundation and to pursue transformative progress in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, with more than $800 million in high-impact research funded to date.
