Raised in Tribute:
$550.00Michael Empey was an amazing man, and I was lucky that he was my dad. He was one of the most thoughtful people I'll ever know. He passed away August 26, 2015. He was 76 years old, too young in my book. He will be missed by so many people. My dad fought a great fight with Parkinson Disease. He was diagnosed 15 years ago. My dad was humble, he thought of others and their challenges. My dad was courageous and brave, like a boxer who keeps getting knocked down, he kept getting back up. My dad was determined to not let having Parkinson Disease get in the way of making the most of every day. My dad started each day with a plan, to keep himself interested and challenged and do the right thing, by himself and the ones he loved, the things you should do in your life. My dad taught me so many wonderful lessons, and gave me so much of him to take with me in to my life, and the lives of my children. Even though my dad was an incredibly responsible father and man, he had a way of living life with the joy of a child, always being playful, always up to something, and looking to mix things up and have fun, which may have even meant being a little naughty and breaking some rules. He was my hero. My dad will be missed so much. I love you dad! Gretchen
