Raised in Tribute:
$1686.00Kevin Conlon Mazer (KC) passed away Friday November 20, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of Henry Mazer and Julia (McGrath) Mazer, both celebrated war veterans. KC was born February 12, 1949 and raised in Lyme where he had a magical and unique childhood which included a fawn (Bucky) and a crow (Hobo). On weekends family and friends would gather to go swimming and enjoy family barbecues. His passion for flying enabled him to solo at the age of 10. KC was a true family man who adored his children Allison and Todd. They loved this wise and heroic man with all of their hearts. He was an incredible story teller with the most contagious laugh.
After graduating from Central Missouri State University with a degree in Criminology and spending time in Colorado, he married Deborah and settled down in Lyme, Ct. They were blessed to have 48 years together filled with joy, love and adventure. Debbie often commented how dull life would have been without this remarkable man by her side.
KC joined his dad and formed Mazer & Son Inc., a successful excavating company. His love for Lyme was demonstrated by his 30 plus years of dedicated service & involvement in town committees including Planning and Zoning, Republican Town Committee, CT. River Gateway Commission & Affordable Housing Commission as well as a trustee for Essex Savings Bank. KC was honored with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of his many years of public service which included donations of service to the Lyme Library, Lyme Park and Recreation, High Hopes, Child and Family Service and Hartman Park.
He did everything with love, perseverance, pride, kindness and a twinkle in his eye. He was engaging, unforgettable and fearless! He will be missed beyond words.
