Today, August 23rd would have been my Uncle/Godfather's 76th birthday. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with Parkinson's a month ago. Parkinson's changed his life forever, but he did not allow it to stop him from living the glorious life he was given.
It was a "fight" that he took on with bravery and dignity. His everlasting faith in our Lord carried he and his family through the best and the worst of times.
Throughout the 15 years of his diagnosis he continued to golf, play poker and bingo. He continued working and ventured into new and exciting business deals. He'd bust a gut with the best of them and didn't let this stop him.
Due to his Parkinson's diagnosis a very special bond developed between he and his fellow golf buddies. This bond created a golf group of those afflicted with debilitating conditions. A group of 5 has now become a group of over 50. What a wonderful tribute from a friend who saw the need to continue their golf game at a slower pace.
I could go on and on about how many people's lives my Uncle has touched and the changes he has made in my life and others. About the true love he and my Aunt shared. About the love and pride he had for his daughter and her family. However, I am creating this page in the hopes that all who knew my Uncle will share and enjoy their wonderful memories and stories of being together.
Until we are together again,
God's blessings and love to all
