$228.40Sheila (Friedman) Brandt, 86, passed away on December 1st, 2020 in Newtown, Connecticut. She was most recently of Somers, NY, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, and was born in the Bronx, NY on December 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Jack and Ida (Danishefsky) Friedman. She had a Masters degree in bacteriology from the University of Michigan, and after leaving that field to raise a family, was an active volunteer and, later on, worked tirelessly for her clients as a successful Realtor. She served as Troop Cookie Chairman multiple times for both daughters’ Girl Scout troops, a chaperone for multiple school trips, PTA president, and lead the successful fight for a second gym for her daughters’ high school. She was an avid crafter, and her house was filled with her beaded flowers, needlework pieces, paintings, and other creations.
She is survived by her daughter Alissa (Brandt) Ciurczak and son-in-law Emil, daughter Mona Brandt, and sisters-in-law Mildred Poliner, Sandra Turnauer, and Shirley Brandt, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harold Brandt.
