One of my favorite memories of my Dad was going down to Lake Michigan at Sheridan Park in Cudahy. Most Saturdays, until I got a paper route, we used to go to Cudahy to visit his parents, Grandma Adele and Grandpa John, and his Great Grandma Bobula, his Aunt Doris, and his brother Dave. Dad and my brothers used to scale down the bluff and throw rocks in the lake. I remember the lake was a lot cloudier back then. It was here where Dad taught me how to skip rocks. I remember adventuring down both north and south of the main path down and there were various broken down piers and an outlet for runoff water which made for a great rock skipping pond. In the winter months I remember coming home down Layton Ave. and being dazzled by the lights at the Mitchel Field airport.
