Lee Shapiro fought Parkinson’s disease for over 30 years. He was a member of PD Active, a local PD community in the East Bay. Lee moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002 when he left Colorado to be closer to his sister Jane.
He was an inspiration to those who knew him, cultivated many friendships while continuing to keep in touch with friends from years ago.
Lee never let Parkinson’s disease define him. He read extensively about PD, keeping up with the latest news and research developments.
Lee was my best friend and my sweetheart. We shared so much together for almost 12 years. My hope is that his memory be maintained with this tribute.
I miss him every day!
