Terry Kelly was my husband for 40 years. He was a loving faithful family man that would drop everything to help someone. When we got married he was as strong as an ox working at Allied Van Lines while we where in college and working at JCPenneys too.
Through out this 40 years he worked, first at Allied Van Lines and Penneys then at Tecumseh Products there was known for his accounting skills becoming their Comptroller . We built a home together, he doing the contractor/electrician role and we built a Veterinary Clinic together ( he did the business part while I did the animal HR part).
We were blessed to have two children, a boy and a girl who he loved unconditionally. he vowed to give these kids a wonderful childhood and life . His own childhood was not easy being a product of divorce and bickering between his parents, despite this he forgave them and helped to take care of them in their later years. He had many half brothers and sisters and step brother and sister but never referred to them as anything but his brothers and sisters. He loved them all very much .
His proudest and happiest times where just being with the kids, no matter what they were doing in school, on vacation, in college and when they moved to Arizona.. Just being with family was a happy place.
Looking back i think the Parkinsons started to creep in when he was in his late 30s as he slowed down and didn't lead the fast walks through the malls " you don't need anything in that store". He started lagging behind and asked me to slow down. It raised its ugly head in 2006 , was difficult to diagnose and he passed away December 16, 2012 . He fought valiantly , volunteered for investigational studies at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was helped immensely by their Doctors .
As for me his wife, I miss him every day, he always made me laugh even when times were tough. Oh there were many tears to especially as the Parkinsons made his personality change. But he taught me not to be afraid of death, he was fearless and I know in my heart he is in heaven and I will see him again. I love you Terry Kelly , Amen.
