My dad Howard J Parker was the kindest, most thoughtful, and most respected man I know. He proudly served in the USAF and was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He and my mom were married before he was deployed. .He returned home and worked tirelessly as a design engineer while going to school to get his degree. He never quite made it, but exceptionally provided for our family through the years. Everyone who met Howard liked and greatly respected him. He loved his family, friends and work, more than anything! He and my mom had a truly wonderful life until his Parkinson’s diagnosis. His life and our world was never the same.
I never heard him complain battled the disease and still found the positive in everything. He was grateful for our assistance every step of the way of his journey and bravely fought his battle.
He worked as long as he could and moved back home to MA from his beloved Maine with my mom to be closer to his family within a year of his passing.
We are grateful for his legacy and the love that has sustained our family, and over 13 years after his passing his influence in our lives is strong. My grandson Parker was born one month after his passing and carries on Howard’s name and memory.
Howard battled Parkinson’s for over 12 years .....his courage, strength, and love sustains us still, and he is missed every single day. Sweet Dreams Dad.
