Raised in Tribute:
$164.80My father, Charles Smith, lost his battle with Parkinson's on November 4th, 2020. He was diagnosed in 2017, but likely had the disease for at least 2 years before being diagnosed. At first, the disease progressed slowly, but once he reached the final stages, he declined quickly. It was very difficult to accept, especially since he was in a facility for physical therapy, and we could only see him through window visits. By the time they transitioned him to "comfort care" our family only had 5 days to visit him in person. We are thankful we had that time, but of course, wish we had more. My father loved his family and my memories are full of family parties at my parents' house pretty much every weekend and every holiday, my parents' home was the place to be! He enjoyed bowling, fishing, horseshoes, darts, vacations in Maine, spending time with his family, and he held a special place in his heart for his eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. His eyes would light up when they were around. He will truly be missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
