My mother was born the day before Jane in 1929. She recently died at age 91 on October 4th, 2020.
While my mother worked as a beautician in downtown Minneapolis Jane's mother Irene gave her some books to commemorate my birth in 1952. They were The Real Mother Goose (undated) and A Child's Garden of Verses (Summer 1953). I really enjoyed those books over the years with their large color drawings and black & white photos of children.
I would have liked to have known Jane Pejsa, but I didn't find out about her until today. I guess I can still get to know her through her books as I also got to know Robert Louis Stevenson through a gift long ago. I look forward to searching for some of her works on the internet soon.
Thanks for sharing her story with me on this website. I never thought I'd be able to figure out who Mrs. Walter U. Hauser was, but I did. I'm glad that the nice things that people do for others doesn't get forgotten!
Best wishes to the family and friends of Jane. God is good to his children.
